The Alcatraz Third Party Camera Adapter opens the self-contained Alcatraz MultiCamset for the usage of standard CCTV cameras.

Thanks to a special synchronization technique used, complex and expensive multiplexers have been made redundant (previously this was not possible). This specially developped adapter allows for connecting standard video cameras from other manufacturers to the Alcatraz MultiCamSet.

The adapter saves the incoming video signal and synchonizes it, so that it can be processed by the MultiSwitch.

The distance  between the Third Party Camera Adapter and the MultiSwich should not exceed a length of 10 m. The power supply is provided via the Cat5e cable by the MultiSwitch. Please note that the Alcatraz MultiSwitch can supply up to three Third Party Camera Adapters with power in total. For the connection of more than three adapters an external 12 VDC power supply unit is required. The switch-over takes place automatically.

Note:
The current consumption of more than 3 adapters would trigger the protection circuit of the MultiSwitch and therefore put the respective cameras out of action.
